A group of researchers from Westmead Hospital [Sydney] invites your emergency department to participate in a national survey on newborn resuscitation practices in the emergency department setting. Unplanned precipitous deliveries in emergency departments are associated with higher maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality. A significant number of these infants will need resuscitation.
The aim is to survey emergency department practices across ANZ regarding knowledge of newborn resuscitation, availability and familiarity of equipment and resources for ongoing education and simulation practices for knowledge retention.
We hope to seek participation from someone familiar with resuscitation-related practices in your ED to complete this survey. An ethical approval has been sought and the response will remain anonymous.
This survey will take 10-15 minutes and can be accessed here:

The findings of this survey will help understand the practices of newborn resuscitation in a non-birthing site. Additionally, the result will inform guideline change in use of newborn versus pediatric resuscitation for infants under 28 days of life. It will also lay ground work for resource allocation especially education and equipment at newborn resuscitation.
Thank you for your participation.
